Blackjack 4 Deck Strategy Chart

  • I’ve been using the basic strategy chart from Wizard of Odds for 4-8 decks and dealer hits on soft 17. But I’ve seen and heard other charts and guidelines that contradict the wizard of odds chart. For example, Blackbelt in Blackjack says you should always hit on a pair of 4’s, but my WOO chart says to split 4’s if the dealer has a 5 or 6.
  • Here you will find two charts – Single Deck Blackjack & 4-8 Decks Blackjack. Both charts are based on that the dealer must stand on soft 17. The purpose of these strategy charts is to help you learn the basic rules of when to hit, when to stand, when to double down and when to split pairs under different situations.

The blackjack table layout will tell you whether the dealer hits on soft 17. It will be written right there: “Dealer Hits Soft 17.” Otherwise it will say: “Dealer Must Stand on all 17.” The house edge is somewhat higher when the soft 17 rule is used.
