WORLD POKER TOUR® ANNOUNCES WPT® ONLINE BORGATA SERIES POWERED BY PARTYPOKER US NETWORK

Los Angeles, CA (August 25, 2020) – The World Poker Tour® is, once again, partnering with the partypoker US Network to bring the WPT® Online brand back to New Jersey for the first-ever WPT Online Borgata Series powered by partypoker US Network. This tournament series comes on the heels of a record-breaking event on the partypoker US Network in June when the first WPT Online Poker Open took place.

The WPT Online Borgata Series features more than $275,000 in preliminary and post-lim event guarantees that will take place from September 13-September 21. The event series is highlighted by the $1,060 buy-in WPT Online Borgata Series Main Event on September 20, which will feature a live-streamed final table on September 21.

The festival showcases three of poker’s premier brands – WPT, partypoker US Network, and Borgata Poker Open – all in a single series to bring the best of WPT and Borgata Poker Open live events to homes across New Jersey.

The series kick-off event on September 13 will be a Sunday $100,000 guaranteed No Limit Hold’em event with a $215 buy-in. Among the highlights of the WPT Online Borgata Series include a $535 Heads Up event on September 19. The event is capped at 32 players. As a special bonus, players that register by Wednesday, September 16 will receive their $35 registration fee back after participating in the event. In addition, the series offers the popular Progressive Knockout Bounty tournaments.

As is customary with partypoker US Network, players may qualify into the $1,060 WPT Online Borgata Series main event for as little as $5. Each day there are $5 qualifiers into $45 and $215 satellites to provide low investment options into the $1,060 main event.

Players may also phase into the $1,060 main event for $109. A phase differs from a satellite as follows: satellite winners are entered into the target event with that event’s starting chip stack; whereas Phase 1 remaining players are entered into the target event with the chip stack at the end of the Phase 1 tournament.

Players may participate in the series through either BorgataPoker.com, BetMGMPoker.com or NJ.PartyPoker.com, and must physically be in New Jersey to register and play in the series.

“WPT and partypoker US Network have created a unique festival for players of all bankrolls across New Jersey to compete in a weeklong series that combines the best of the live and online realm,” said Angelica Hael, VP of Global Tour Management for the World Poker Tour.

WPT Executive Tour Director, Matt Savage added, “Live tournament series at Borgata have been a staple of New Jersey poker for many years and the WPT has worked alongside the partypoker US Network team to bring the best assets of the live product into this online series including WPT-level structures, quality side events, and satellites for the main event.”

“partypoker US Network continues to identify opportunities to provide the best online poker experience for our players. We are proud to expand our relationship with the World Poker Tour and provide players across New Jersey with another state-of-the-art offering,” said Ray Stefanelli, Director of Poker for partypoker US Network. “The WPT Online Borgata Series combines the live prestige of the WPT and Borgata to the online poker community across the partypoker US Network.”
