Bristol has chosen, for graduates, to mainly specify Oxford-style gowns and Cambridge-style hoods. Unlike many British universities, the hood itself is to be 'University red', lined with a specified colour. University red is defined to be Pantone 187. Bristol also specifies that undergraduates are to wear gowns 'of the approved pattern' in. Cardiff University Poker Society has 777 members. Welcome to Cardiff University Poker Society. Sports
If you in any way like sports, then do yourself a favour and definitely try out for sport at Bristol University. Sport is huge, and it’s the best way to meet other people. Every Wednesday the sport societies have socials and go out to Bunker. If you don’t do sport, you cannot go out on sports night as you need an exclusive ticket. So even if you don’t think you’re that great at sport it is still 100% worthwhile joining one of the clubs.
The sport societies don’t require you to be of any specific level and you can join any as a beginner. One of the best known clubs is the Mixed Lacrosse teams as they don’t require you to be of any decent standard, and its all about having fun which is really great. The sports clubs have tours and go on many trips. If you don’t do sport at Bristol, you’ll miss out. So join!

Drama
Although Drama Society can take up a lot of hours of your life, with all the rehearsals and what not, everyone who does it loves it. Again, it’s just another way of meeting loads of different people, and because of the nature of drama you really do get to know a lot of people on a really personal level.
Many friends of mine who do drama say they’ve met some friends for life through the Bristol Drama Society. They put on loads of productions throughout the year; Musicals, plays, dance and improvisations. They are known to be very well-regarded and even have some famous alumni from the Society.
Political Societies
Bristol is known for its protests. The students have very strong opinions on all issues and getting involved with a political society is a great idea when you got to the University of Bristol. There are always loads of debates and guest speakers. The Bristol Feminist Society has become a massive deal at Bristol. They have a huge presence of campus and do lots of things to encourage equal rights, Getting involved in this type of society can even look good on your CV, as it reflects well on your character.
Your subject society
No matter what subject you study at Bristol University, you will have your own subject society. What is so great about these societies is that they allow you to interact with other students from different years who are studying your same course. I personally have found this very helpful as they can give you insight on what are the best classes to take and what to expect from you course in general.

They have a great social side to them, with many events and even just going to dinner at each others houses. The best thing also, is that everyone shares the same love for the subject they study. On top of that many of the societies are linked to job opportunities, and have helped many people get a job after University.
