- The nine tribal casinos in San Diego County began reopening in May with limited operations, about two months after shutting down due to COVID-19. Because they are on sovereign land, they aren’t subject to state and county health regulations that ordered other businesses remain closed.
- SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The county appeared to soften its stance Thursday in regard to tribal casino reopenings, a day after announcements that operations will be restarted on Monday at the Viejas.
Monday of next week, May 18, will see the eight casinos in San Diego, California, reopening, with social distancing, taking temperatures, sanitising and face masks, says Fantini’s Gaming Report.
Harrahs Casino San Diego Reopening
Even earlier, the Win River casino near Redding in northern California will open again on Friday of this week.
Acros the US, gambling is starting again in many states, including horse events in Indiana and Kentucky, charity gaming in New Hampshire and native Indian casinos in North Carolina. North Dakota, Washington DC and Oklahoma also report locations opening this week or next week.
